Watchlist Wednesday featuring King of Improv Rob Riggle, True Detective, and Game of Thrones
We’ve had the pleasure of talking to a lot of great actors. Some really talented and intriguing people. Learning about the process of comedy and the ins and outs of how your favorite movies are created has been one of the most awesome parts of covering TV and entertainment. But Rob Riggle was one of the best yet. From the Marine Corps to the Hangover and now his latest series, Ski Master Academy, all of Riggle’s service and work has been extremely impressive, highly entertaining. But it turns that perhaps Rob’s funniest work ever never technically made the cut for his work. His improv scenes during Step Brothers (particularly the heart attack scene) is arguably one of the best scenes in comedy:
You watch Riggle and Ferrell bounce off each other and you realize what true, real comedy is all about. Off script, off the top, instant chemistry, and insanely funny. Theres plenty of funny actors, but natural funny like this is almost impossible to come by. If you somehow didn’t already appreciate Rob Riggle through his Hall of Fame resume, him breaking down his movie set freestyling will.
Topics on today’s Watchlist Rundown:
1) Overreact To A Trailer – True Detective Season 3, Game of Throne
2) Yellowstone is the Best show on Television right now
3) Magic For Humans – dude goes viral for getting tricked into thinking hes invisible
4) On The List / Off The List
On The List – Jack Ryan, August 31st on Amazon Prime. Jim Halpert plays Tom Clancy’s legendary character, on the small screen for the first time.
Off The List – The Sinner Season 2 – It pains me to say it, but the last couple episodes of Sinner have stunk out loud. I’ve been one of the biggest proponents of this show. Season 1 was phenomenal. Some truly stunning TV. Harry Ambrose was an all time character. And S2 even picked right up where Jessica Biel and Season 1 left off with a couple bangarang episodes. But facts are facts the last few hours of this show have been rough. Plenty of time to bounce back but we need Carrie Coon and President Whitmore to bring the heat for the second half of the season.
Tell us whats on your list and off your list and any other shows you want to discuss, get at us on Twitter. Next week we’ll be talking about the new season of Sunny, episode 1 of Lebron’s The Shop, and all things television on another edition of The Watchlist.
